Where we Paddle:
South Niagara Canoe Club
South Niagara Canoe Club
Wonder Woman's Warriors aka SNCC Hope Floats is a Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Team in the Niagara Region. We paddle out of South Niagara Canoe Club (SNCC) at 108 Thorold Road East in Welland during the spring, summer and autumn. In the winter we paddle in the WIFC (Welland International Flatwater Center) indoor facility at 16 Townline Tunnel Rd, Welland, Ontario.
We will always be open to new crew. No age limits and all fitness levels welcome. When we fill a boat, we simply start filling another one. Wonder Woman's Warriors aka SNCC Hope Floats, practices with our Women's Crew and our Mixed crew. We also paddle in festivals together. The camaraderie within the club makes it perfect for BCS crew to invite family and friends to be able to practice and race together.
The commitment level is a personal choice. We practice twice a week during the Summer, Spring and Winter, and once per week in the autumn. Some paddlers never miss a practice, others paddle once a week or in the case of shift workers every other week. We are a recreational team with an optional competitive aspect to it.
SNCC from time to time will be running introductory sessions in order for new paddlers to try Dragon Boating, and find out how much they love it prior to joining one of their teams. Please contact us to find out when the next session is.
The costs are twofold and very reasonable.
